Opening Up Works for Structural Investigation | DMC Group UK

Working with Architects and Engineers

DMC Group works closely with Architects, Structural Engineers, and Fire Engineers. We carry out Opening Up Works and investigations. These help gather important information for future design and building work.

Opening Up Surveys for Refurbishment

We visit the site to open parts of the building. This is done as requested by the project’s Architect or Engineer. The surveys help to:

Check key parts of the structure

Find hidden problems

Help plan extensions, roof repairs, or refurbishments

After the survey, we restore all opened areas. We make sure they look like before. We work safely and cause little disruption.

Fire Risk Assessment of External Walls (FRAEW)

We support Fire Engineers by doing surveys needed for Fire Risk Assessments. These are often required by UK fire laws. The surveys help to:

Understand the wall system

Find types of insulation and fire barriers

Check building regulations compliance

We open parts of the façade as the Fire Engineer directs. This shows the full wall build-up and fire safety parts. Afterward, we close and fix the openings, matching the original façade.
